Skye Air and CLTRI partner for Tamil Nadu drone delivery
The partnership aims to improve delivery times for medical supplies in the southern Indian state
Indian drone logistics firm Skye Air Mobility has partnered with the Chengalpattu-based Central Leprosy Teaching and Research Institute (CLTRI) to deliver medical supplies across the state of Tamil Nadu.
The partnership will employ Skye Air’s StarLiner and Artemis drone models, fitted with temperature-controlled cargo compartments.
The initiative will also employ Skye Air’s uncrewed traffic management software system, UTM.
The intention of the project is to improve the logistical efficiency of the state’s healthcare sector, allowing medical supplies to be delivered faster than by traditional road-based transport methods.
Fellow drone firm Swoop Aero completed a 30-day medical logistics trial in Ethiopia in December 2023.
