South Korean national police order new KAI Chamsuri helicopter
The aircraft is configured for law enforcement operations, with infrared cameras and a video downlink
The Korean National Police Agency has placed an order with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) for a new KUH-1P Chamsuri law enforcement helicopter.
The order also covers the provision of spare parts, support equipment, and updated technical manuals.
The Chamsuri is a multipurpose helicopter developed from KAI’s Surion military utility helicopter. It is equipped with electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) cameras for nighttime operations and a wireless video transmission system.
The Korean National Police Agency previously placed an order with Airbus for a new H225 helicopter in December 2025.
