SPAES completes cockpit upgrade with Garmin Systems in MD 902 Helicopter
The new avionics system features touchscreen displays, GPS navigation, and communications capabilities
SPAES, an EASA Part 21J Design and 21G Production Organization, has announced the completion of a Minor Change project in an MD Helicopter.
The project involved the installation of Garmin GTN 750Xi, GNC 255, and MD41-1510 Annunciator, which has enhanced the helicopter’s avionics system.
The new avionics system provides advanced features such as touchscreen displays, GPS navigation, and communications capabilities. It also offers increased situational awareness for pilots by providing them with access to real-time information to help them make informed decisions while flying.
After the installation, comprehensive Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Function Tests were completed to ensure the new avionics system was fully operational and met all regulatory requirements. The results of both tests were positive, and the helicopter was approved for flight.
“We are delighted to have successfully completed this Minor Change project in a MD Helicopter for a customer,” said Joachim Schanz, CEO of SPAES. “Our team of experienced engineers is dedicated to providing top-quality and innovative solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients. This project is a testament to our commitment to delivering comprehensive and efficient solutions to our clients in the aviation industry.”
