Spectrum Aeromed to work on LifeFlight’s Challenger fleet
After working with Spectrum Aeromed for the first time in 2014, Australian air-medical service LifeFlight contracted Spectrum Aeromed for work on their Challenger fleet of fixed-wing aircraft
LifeFlight has flown more than 60,000 critical rescue missions over the past 40 years, according to the organization. Their fixed-wing air ambulance retrieval service allows the organization to help patients in need of urgent medical care throughout Australia and across the Asia Pacific region.
“LifeFlight Australia has been operating with Spectrum Aeromed stretchers for the past five years, in the first of our Challenger 604 air ambulance jets,” said LifeFlight Coordination Centre Executive Manager Peter Elliott.
Their current project increases Spectrum Aeromed’s deliverable to three Challenger 604s, each with a fully customized interior for the safe and efficient transport and treatment of patients of all ages, from infant to adult.
Providing the room medical crews need for missions
"Being able to work with LifeFlight on these Challenger 604 aircraft is very exciting and we are proud that they are using our equipment for their continued growth and critical patient care needs," said Matthew Christenson, Spectrum Aeromed Vice-President Account Executive. "The Challenger 604 aircraft is great for air ambulance transports and provides the room and options that medical crews need for dedicated long-range patient transports. We strive to be able to customize an interior to fit the many needs and roles of the LifeFlight medical team and it has been great to work with them."
Spectrum Aeromed has delivered the air ambulance equipment for the three Challengers; the installation is complete on one of the three aircraft and the remaining two Challengers are currently in the equipment installation phase.
The other day, LifeFlight announced it would be opening a new Air Ambulance jet base in Singapore. The expansion was made possible after LifeFlight was awarded a contract for the provision of aeromedical services for a large multi-national corporation, working on projects throughout Asia.
