Subaru receives additional contract for two Subaru Bell 412EPXs

Subaru Corporation has announced an additional contract for two Subaru Bell 412EPXs, from Japan Coast Guard. This brings the total number of 412EPX orders from Japan Coast Guard to six. The aircraft will be used for ensuring security at sea, search and rescue (SAR) operations, responding to maritime disasters, and transporting supplies to disaster-stricken areas.

The Subaru Bell 412EPX has commonalities with the Bell 212/412, enabling a smooth transition by utilizing existing resources. The helicopter includes state-of-the-art integrated avionics with large screens and easy operation. In addition, power and maximum gross weight have been increased for better operational capability and efficiency.

According to Subaru, the 412EPX is ready for all missions, including air-station and ship operations.

Earlier this year, Bell Flight announced that Japan’s Nara and Miyazaki Prefectures had signed purchase agreements for two Subaru Bell 412EPX helicopters with Subaru Corporation.
