Texas DPS secures five-year helicopter rescue training deal with SR3

SR3 Rescue Concepts, a provider of specialized rescue, hoist, and advanced helicopter training, has secured a five-year training services contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). The agreement provides Texas DPS aviation personnel across the US state with streamlined, guaranteed access to SR3’s helicopter rescue training programs, with locked-in pricing through 2030.

Under the contract, Texas DPS gains access to SR3’s full training curriculum, enabling tailored training events to meet operational requirements. Courses include initial and advanced helicopter hoist rescue, aerial use-of-force, tactical medical, helicopter underwater escape (HUET), night vision goggles (NVG) operations, and night hoist training. Advanced modules also cover open water, swiftwater, high-altitude, and mountain rescue scenarios.

“This contract is a testament to the commitment Texas DPS has made to the safety and preparedness of their aviation crews,” said Dave Callen, owner of SR3 Rescue Concepts. “Over the past three years, we have trained much of their agency statewide, and this agreement takes that relationship to the next level. Instead of coordinating each class one at a time, Texas DPS now has SR3 at their disposal multiple times a year across every base in the state for the next five years. That kind of continuity and flexibility is what saves lives.”

Texas DPS recently signed a purchase agreement for a Bell 407GXi.
