Three helos respond to Te Kuiti crash
Three rescue helicopters were dispatched following a fatal car crash on the State Highway 3 on the outskirts of Te Kuiti, New Zealand.
Three rescue helicopters were dispatched following a fatal car crash on the State Highway 3 on the outskirts of Te Kuiti, New Zealand, at approximately 14:30 hrs on 27 February. Three Philips Search and Rescue Trust helicopters – the Westpac Waikato Helicopter, Taupo’s Greenlea Rescue Helicopter and Rotorua’s Baytrust Rescue helicopter – attended the scene, along with ground ambulance, fire and police personnel.
A total of six people were involved in the multiple-vehicle accident. There were two fatalities and the other four people were flown to Waikato Hospital, two, a woman and child, in critical condition and two in serious condition.
