Three more H135 helicopters for Japanese police
The Airbus helicopters will be used by law enforcement agencies in Hokkaido, Shimane, and Miyagi Prefectures
Japan’s National Police Agency (NPA) has placed a follow-on order for three more Airbus H135s with manufacturer Airbus.
The rotorcraft will be deployed to prefectural police in Hokkaido, Shimane, and Miyagi, and will be used for law enforcement, search and rescue (SAR), and tactical transport missions, among other roles.
The order is part of NPA’s ongoing fleet modernization, and will bring the agency’s total number of Airbus helicopters to 26.
The move follows the successful delivery of an H135 to the Hiroshima Prefectural Police in late 2025, and an H160 to the Hiroshima City Fire Services Bureau in the same period.
“We are honored by the National Police Agency’s continued trust in the H135,” said Jean-Luc Alfonsi, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Japan. “We remain dedicated to providing comprehensive support necessary to ensure the NPA meets its critical mission requirements across Japan.”
