Thrush Aircraft secures Saudi Arabia contract for dual-role 710P aircraft

Thrush Aircraft has been awarded a contract by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) for eight dual-cockpit 710P aircraft, configured for both aerial firefighting and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations. Thrush’s local agent, Advanced Aircraft Technology (AAT), will act as the prime contractor for a consortium that includes Dynamic Aviation and Planificacion y Soluciones Aereas, (PLYSA).

The deal marks the first phase of a Kingdom-wide capability development initiative, encompassing not only the aircraft but also pilot training, operational support, advanced simulation systems, ground equipment, and spares, all to be sustained over a five-year support period.

Under the program, Thrush will deliver eight factory-new 710P aircraft, each powered by PT6-67F turbine engines and equipped with Garmin avionics, night vision goggles (NVG) compatible systems, dual-axis autopilot, and firefighting-specific equipment. AAT will provide integration management and in-country support, while Dynamic Aviation supplies ISR mission systems, including cameras and associated equipment. PLYSA will oversee pilot training and operational support.

Last year, Saudi Arabia trialed drone-based medical deliveries during Hajj season.
