TriState CareFlight acquires new H125
The aircraft will fly from TriState’s base in Taos, and is expected to improve response times in northern New Mexico
TriState CareFlight has announced the arrival of a new H125 B3E helicopter for its base in Taos, in the US state of New Mexico.
The aircraft, which will serve the north of the state, went into service last month, and is expected to offer faster response times, better performance, and improved medical capabilities to patients.
Alongside being able to carry 550lb (249kg) of additional weight compared with its predecessor, at a height of 10,000ft (3,048m), the H125 also travels 20kts (37km/h) faster.
It also features more advanced avionics, including obstacle detection, aircraft awareness, and real-time weather updates, as well as medical equipment for trauma, cardiac, stroke, pediatric, neonatal, high-risk obstetric, and other cases. This includes a Zoll AutoPulse CPR device, and facilities to carry and administer whole blood.
The helicopter is one of the first to go into service as part of a multi-year fleet upgrade program by parent firm Air Methods.
Air Methods also recently announced its deployment of two Bell 429s to enhance its emergency response capability in the states of Iowa and North Carolina.
