TrustAir celebrates five-year anniversary
Starting in 2015 with a mission to start and provide air medical services with its own fleet, adhering to the highest international standards, Hungary’s TrustAir has worked hard over the last five years to meet its goal. CEO Dr Peter Turi shared details of the company’s progress with AirMed&Rescue
Following over a decade of air medical transport experience, both HEMS and fixed wing, Dr Turi wanted to bring that expertise to Hungary. The current fleet comprises homogenous turboprops, three of which are owned outright and two of which are leased, with a buy-in option for one of them next year. The company operates from two bases, one in Hungary and the other in Spain, allowing for rapid response times to common patient pick up locations.
“We’ve seen steady organic growth in the business,” said Dr Turi. “Last year alone, we flew 200 missions.” There is the potential for significant increases in volume though, he added. “We are trying to educate the Central European market, as the region has much more potential. We have already published two textbooks to provide training materials for students, medical professionals and doctors.”
TrustAir entered into a solid and competitive market, where key players have been operating for decades and already have a wide established network of partners, personal relationships, stable financial operations and a solid background, so it is doubtless a challenge to fight for its position in the marketplace. “We have to catch up step by step,” commented Dr Turi, “proving day by day that we can provide the same (if not better) quality of service.” He added: “It is really hard for us to find the appropriate balance between market demand and available capacity. If demand is higher than capacity, then we can’t perform missions, if capacity is higher, then it is very costly to maintain it.”
Dr Turi concluded: “We are really grateful for our returning clients for their trust in our company and we hope that we could prove our reliability for many other, new clients in the future.”
