UK HEMS charities seek joint head of operations
Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance are seeking to fill the newly created role of joint head of operations.
Two UK HEMS charities, Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, are seeking to fill the newly created role of joint head of operations.
The holder of the new role will report jointly to the CEOs of both charities, acting as a senior member of their respective management teams, with specific responsibilities for the delivery and ongoing development of air ambulance operations.
Explaining the move, the organisations said they have a ‘long and successful history of co-operation’ and work very closely together operationally. Both their aircraft and operating patterns are the same, and both services work within the NHS Ambulance Service South Central region, they said, adding: “As a result of this partnership, having one head of operations, to oversee both operations and speak with ‘one voice’ to the ambulance service stakeholder, is key.”
