US-based aviation company Universal Avionics (UA) has expanded its training efforts with the launch of UA Academy

The academy is an online learning center designed to deliver on-demand course access to UA customers and Authorized Dealers/Integrators. UA Academy students will gain instant access to engaging courses for UA products with the ability to choose specific topics of interest. Across the world, pilots, technicians, and directors of maintenance flying and managing aircraft with UA equipment could benefit from UA Academy.

An increasing need for online learning

The course is designed by UA aviation professionals specifically for pilots, technicians, and Authorized Dealers/Integrators.

Dror Yahav, UA CEO, said: “As a company who provides groundbreaking and innovative solutions, we recognize the importance of providing state-of-the-art training. Now, more than ever, with Covid-19, we are seeing an increased need for online learning. As a company, we’ve worked diligently to develop additional technology-based training devices to further support self and remote training, which will complement UA Academy.”

Option to add instructor-led classroom training

UA’s online courses apply tested adult learning theory and are built on a purpose-driven training platform designed intentionally for customer training. Interactive practices are mixed with short, instructional videos. Students also have the option to accelerate their learning by pairing the online course with innovative desktop training software and devices as well as scenario-based, instructor-led classroom training.

Courses available at launch include SBAS Flight Management System (FMS) Operations, Vertical Navigation VNAV Made Easy, InSight Display System Operations for Fixed Wing, FMS End User Maintenance, FMS Return to Service, and Data Link Fundamentals.
