US Coast Guard in Charleston Mass Rescue Exercise
The US Coast Guard took part in a joint mass rescue exercise in Charleston Harbor on 30 September.
The US Coast Guard and local agencies in and around the Charleston area, South Carolina, joined forces in a joint mass rescue exercise in Charleston Harbor on 30 September. More than 90 people were rescue from simulated distress onboard the General Beauregard, a Charleston-based passenger vessel. The 23 participating agencies worked together to ensure the safety of the passengers while sharpening their overall communication and inter-agency co-operation. Taking part was a helicopter crew who practised hoisting from the vessel.
