Uzbekistan confirmed as undisclosed C-390 Millennium customer

Embraer has confirmed that the Republic of Uzbekistan is the previously undisclosed customer for its C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft. The announcement was made during the Singapore Airshow, marking a significant step in the modernization of the Uzbekistan Air Force’s airlift capabilities.

The Air Force will primarily employ the C-390 for transport and humanitarian missions, enhancing both operational reach and response flexibility. With the acquisition, Uzbekistan becomes the first nation in Central Asia to operate the C-390, a platform that continues to gain traction in the global military transport market.

Designed and built in the 21st century, the C-390 Millennium is regarded as one of the most advanced aircraft in its class. It can carry payloads of up to 26 tons, cruise at speeds of 470kts, and operate over long distances. Mission versatility includes cargo and troop transport, airdrop operations, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian relief. The aircraft can also use temporary or unpaved runways.

When fitted with air-to-air refueling equipment as the KC-390, it can serve as both tanker and receiver. The aircraft is NATO-interoperable and well suited for agile combat employment operations.

Embraer recently delivered the first C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft to the Hungarian Air Force.
