Volare maintenance facility

The site, at London Oxford Airport, provides enough floor space for Volare to work on up to 12 twin-engine helicopters simultaneously

Volare Aviation has opened a dedicated helicopter maintenance, management, and refurbishment facility at the UK’s London Oxford Airport.

The facility, in Hangar 14, Bay 2, boats 1,486m2 of floor space, and enables up to 12 twin-engine helicopters to be worked on simultaneously, complementing Volare’s expertise doing exterior and interior work on pre-owned Leonardo, Airbus and Sikorsky models.

“Opening this new helicopter facility enables us to deliver one of the most comprehensive services on the market to helicopter owners,” said Volare Aviation Founder and Chairman Dustin Dryden.  “From this fully accredited facility, with international approvals including the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), we have the ability to purchase, refurbish, manage and maintain owners’ helicopters all under one roof, from one location.”

The new facilities complement the airport’s expansion in helicopter capacity

The opening of Volare’s new maintenance facilities follows the addition of seven new International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), EASA and CAA-compliant helipads by London Oxford Airport in 2021, as part of the airport’s wider strategic plan.

James Dillion-Godfray, Head of Business Development at Oxford Airport, explained: “These [helipads] have facilitated safer interaction with fixed wing operations at the airport where interlining between jets and helicopters often takes place, in particular to undertake 22-minute shuttle runs to and from The London Heliport, co-owned and operated with London Oxford Airport.”
