H&C will support the strengthening and expansion of Weststar’s European affiliate, in exchange for a controlling share in the business

Weststar Aviation Services has announced a new strategic partnership with Helicopter & Cooperation SAS (H&C).

H&C is a joint venture between the Paris-based Avico Group and the similarly named, Namibia-based Westair Aviation.

The new strategic partnership will help support the expansion of Weststar’s European affiliate, Weststar NDD Srl (WNND) – strengthening and broadening the range of services offered. This will include a specific focus on providing mission-critical services in the search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS), and oil and gas sectors.

Under the terms of the agreement, H&C will hold a controlling equity interest, while Weststar Aviation Services will continue as a partner in WNDD, with no changes to the company’s management or its European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) structure.

“We are delighted to welcome H&C to WNDD,” said Dr Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, founder and Chairman of Weststar Aviation Services. “Their extensive experience in the aviation industry will be invaluable to the continued growth and success of WNDD. We are optimistic that with Avico and Westair’s established client base and access to exceptional growth prospects in these regions, we can capture a significant share of this growing market.”

The global air ambulance industry is forecast to be worth US$50.43 billion by 2032.
