Wiltshire Air Ambulance unveils new name
UK-based air ambulance charity, based in the west of England, has renamed to better reflect its operational borders
Helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) provider Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charity has announced a new name – it will now be known as the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity.
In a statement, it said that the change was made to “better reflect the essential work it carries out across the county of Wiltshire, and the city of Bath”, which is in the neighboring county of Somerset.
The change also coincides with a wider rebrand, including the introduction of a new logo, as the organization enters its 35th year of operation.
UK air ambulances traditionally have strong regional identities, and rely heavily on fundraising efforts. Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance stated that it hopes the rebrand will make it more “accessible to supporters”, as well as building “better synergy with local businesses”.
“We felt it was only right to have the charity’s name reflect our true operational area,” said David Philpott, the charity’s Chief Executive. “It’s important to stress, nothing will change clinically, we will continue to be there for the people of Wiltshire and Bath – just as we have done for the last 34 years. Simply put, we now have a name that truly tells our story.”
Fellow UK-based HEMS charity Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) recently announced plans to build a new base.
