Wyoming Life Flight celebrates 40 years of service
Crew members, community leaders and former patients came together for the milestone achievement
To celebrate its 40 years of emergency air medical care services, Wyoming Life Flight held a gathering with crew members past and present, community leaders and former patients.
They all came together at the Wyoming Life Flight hangar at Casper-Natrona County International Airport on 21 July.
“This anniversary is a big deal to us because it signifies how much we are tied to Wyoming, and the communities here continue to trust in our ability to treat and take care of their sickest, most fragile patients,” said Jeremy Littleton, Area Manager with Air Methods, the parent company of Wyoming Life Flight.
The service operates a Bell 407 helicopter and a Pilatus PC-12 fixed-wing airplane. Its trauma clinicians are able to carry and administer blood in flight for patients at risk of severe blood loss and hemorrhagic shock. It is also equipped to transport high-risk obstetrics patients, as well as pediatric patients.
Casper’s Mayor Bruce Knell reflected on the service’s longevity in his speech: “The fact that Wyoming Life Flight is still serving the state after 40 years is a testament to both the quality of the care they provide and their commitment to the people of our state.”
EMS Manager at Banner Wyoming Medical Center EMS Riley Beckstead, added: “Wyoming Life Flight serves a much greater purpose than the fastest method of transport. It is the premier flight service in the state, which means our residents are receiving the most competent care as well as safety held to standards that no other flight service provides.”
