XP Services named new distributor for Recoil’s aerial firefighting tank systems
Recoil Aerospace has announced that Tennessee-based XP Services will be a distributor of its advanced tank systems for UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters
Recoil Aerospace, a Kentucky-based manufacturer specializing in aerial fire suppression systems (AFSS), has named Tennessee’s XP Services as a new distributor for its tank systems designed for UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
Recoil offers both internal and external AFSS tank systems for the UH-60 series. These systems feature carbon fiber construction, versatile mounting options (underside fuselage or in-cabin), retractable design, high airspeed, and rapid hover-filling. Notably, the internal tank can be installed or removed within minutes and supports ground-fill operations.
Joseph Rice, President of Recoil Aerospace, commented on the collaboration: “XP Services is a leader in customizing Black Hawk helicopters and equipping aircraft with mission-enhancing technology. With this distributorship, their clients can now readily choose our proven UH-60 firefighting tank system, improving operational effectiveness.”
Bill Prince, Program Manager at XP Services, added: “Becoming a distributor for Recoil's UH-60 AFSS tank system greatly enhances XP’s service offering, providing clients with access to a state-of-the-art, US-made fire suppression solution. This partnership allows us to deliver a reliable, effective system designed to meet the rigorous demands of firefighting operations in challenging environments.”
Recoil holds a broad range of international approvals for its aerial firefighting systems, with supplemental type certificates (STCs) covering platforms such as the H225 and UH-60. These certifications enable operators in countries including the USA, Canada, South Korea, Brazil, Morocco, and Australia to deploy Recoil’s AFSS technology. Rice noted that the addition of XP Services marks a continued expansion of the Recoil dealer network. “We value the efforts of such strategic distributors to help us support aerial firefighters globally, offering our new, innovative technology,” he said.
Prince noted that XP was initially drawn to Recoil due to the company’s innovative approach to designing fire suppression systems specifically for rotorcraft like the UH-60. “Recoil’s focus on quality and engineering excellence aligns with our own commitment to providing the best solutions for our clients,” he stated. “As always, our goal is to provide unmatched value through innovative solutions that improve safety, performance, and mission success for our clients.”
