AMGH helps Hurricane Michael response
Air Medical Group Holdings (AMGH) has announced that it has sent crews to assist with the response to Hurricane Michael.
Air Medical Group Holdings (AMGH) has announced that it has sent crews to assist with the response to Hurricane Michael.
The group is under the American Medical Response’s (AMR) contract with FEMA. Two of the companies under AMGH’s umbrella – Med-Trans and Air Evac Lifeteam – will be sending crews as well as two aircraft between them. AMGH said that the teams will also be bringing additional medical supplies.
“We are committed to helping support these communities and the patients who were in the path of this catastrophic Hurricane.” said Fred Buttrell, President and CEO of AMGH. “Helping these communities will not impact our day-to-day ability to provide timely medical response for all the communities we serve.”
AMGH says that the crews will stay in the area ‘as long as needed’, but anticipate that they will be on a seven to 14 day activation. The crews will be working under the guidance of FEMA, State and local EMS agencies.
“When disasters of the magnitude of Hurricane Michael occur, we appreciate the support of all the EMS agencies who come together to work tirelessly on behalf of the affected communities,” said Ted Van Horne, AMR President and CEO. “All the teams from AMGH were embedded with us during Florence and now we have engaged them again to help with Michael.”
