HNZ Group Inc. reported on 8 May that it has been awarded contracts by INPEX Operations Australia Pty Ltd and Shell Australia Pty Ltd to provide offshore search and rescue (SAR) services for the INPEX-led Ichthys LNG Project and the Shell-led Prelude FLNG Project.

HNZ, a provider of helicopter transportation and related support services, will supply one leased S-92 helicopter to provide 365-day SAR and medical evacuation services, in order to support both offshore facilities in Australia. The contract terms are five years, plus two, two-year optional renewal periods.

Don Wall, President and Chief Executive Officer of HNZ Group, said: “We are very excited to expand our S-92 operations in Broome to include full all-weather search and rescue services. This new contract extends our relationships with both INPEX and Shell and we are pleased with the continued confidence they have placed in us.”

HNZ said that the new contract builds on its current business in Australia, where it has performed helicopter transportation operations for over 20 years.
