Helicopter responds to two-car collision in Sydney

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Grose Vale Road, Grose Vale, Sydney, Australia just before 13:00 hrs on 23 May.
With two specialist trauma doctors and an intensive care paramedic onboard, the CareFlight team joined NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene. One doctor and NSW Ambulance paramedics cared for an 87-year-old man with serious internal injuries. The second doctor and intensive care paramedic treated a 42-year-old man for pelvic and lower abdominal injuries as well as a serious leg fracture.
The medical teams continued critical care in separate road ambulances in a convoy to Westmead Hospital, where the elderly patient was taken straight to an operating theatre.
