The incident saw eight people injured in Chatswood at 15:45 hrs on 19 August and involved a major response by emergency services in the area. Among the injured was a 16-month-old baby, but five of those injured were discharged soon after from nearby Royal North Shore Hospital.
CareFlight’s team was called to the scene, landing nearby at Chatswood Oval. A specialist doctor and critical care paramedic ran to the scene, and were tasked with stabilising the most seriously injured patient, a woman in her 20s. She received head and abdominal injuries, but after providing the initial treatment, it was decided that the woman was stable enough to be transported to the hospital via ground ambulance.
