The US Army has issued a photo series highlighting the role its air crews are playing in helping the citizens of Puerto Rico by conducting aeromedical transport missions.

The images were shot on 20 October, as a team of Task Force Iron Eagles, composed of two HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, and one MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor from the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 264, transported patients requiring medical care. The VMM flew the patients from Saint Thomas to Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, where they were then taken to the hospital ship T-AH20 USNS Comfort, which lay off the coast of Puerto Rico, by the 6-101st General Support Aviation Battalion.

Such air medical co-ordinations occur daily as all of the armed service branches work together assisting the local and federal responders caring for the health of those impacted by Hurricane Maria, said the US Army.
