Mexico's AirLink Ambulance opens base in San Diego
Mexico-based fixed-wing provider AirLink Ambulance opened a new base in San Diego, US, on 1 October.

Mexico-based fixed-wing provider AirLink Ambulance opened a new base in San Diego, US, on 1 October. The company said a new company has and base was established due to ‘a constant increase in demand’ for its services. Together with Paul Berner and Sergio Abril, two former owners of the air ambulance company AviaMedix, USMX AirLink Holding Group has launched in the US as AirLink USA LC. A Learjet 35 (tail number N94GP) is now operating from the base.
Jessica Faubert, CEO of AirLink Ambulance, explained: “The intention of this new strategic base is to better serve [clients] by further extending AirLink’s geographic coverage to include the North Western part of Mexico and the US. We are now not only faster and more competitive on several routes, we are able to provide … air ambulance flights point-to-point within the US as well.”
Apart from the already existing AirLink team, AirLink hired new personal in the US to manage the base locally: Paul Berner becomes general manager of AirLink USA, a role he formerly performed for AviaMedix; Sergio Abril, a long-time healthcare support professional, is now vice-president of business development; Dr Vilke is medical director for the US base and Lisbeth Brown was named as chief flight nurse.
Airlink said that it is now seeking EURAMI accreditation for the new base.
