AS1 Eoin Kirwan-Taylor documents a Puma from 33 Squadron during a sea rescue exercise

The Puma from 33 Squadron in RAF Akrotiri simulates winching a casualty out of the sea from the base of the Cypriot cliffs. The Puma HC2 medium support helicopter operates under Joint Helicopter Command control and is used in a variety of roles, including humanitarian and disaster relief operations, non-combatant evacuations, as well as extraction of casualties and the tactical movement of troops, weapons, ammunition and stores on the battlefield.
