Very easy to use and can be deployed very quickly

What brought you into the medical technology sector?

I was always interested in meeting people, technical products and international cultures. As a paramedic and studied economist, the chance to work for WEINMANN and drive its portfolio and internationalization strategy was a great opportunity to combine my interests with my business career.

The motto for WEINMANN is “We Simplify Saving Lives”. How does this manifest in the products and services that WEINMANN provides to its customers?

Our solutions all have one thing in common: they are very easy to use and can be deployed very quickly. This allows emergency paramedics to concentrate on the most important thing: the survival of the patient.

WEINMANN also states that its teams are largely made from current or former emergency services personnel. How does this help WEINMANN to design, manufacture and supply medical technology?

Yes, many of our employees have experience in rescue services, critical care units or disaster medicine. This helps enormously in the development of our devices because we understand the conditions in operations. We are in constant communication with our customers and the feedback is always the same: we communicate as equals and know the needs of our users. 

Equipment for emergency responders (especially aerial specialists) are often limited by size, weight and power restrictions. How are WEINMANN products beneficial for aerial emergency medical services?

WEINMANN Emergency has several decades of experience in the manufacture of pre-hospital medical technology. We have set ourselves the goal of developing devices for extreme situations, paying particular attention to size, weight and robustness. For example, our MEDUVENT Standard turbine ventilator weighs just 2.1kg. And our RESCUE-PACK Plus is also particularly suitable for air rescue. You can easily stow your WEINMANN device in it and you can abseil it from a helicopter easily.

Are WEINMANN developing new or upgraded technology for emergency staff?

With our experienced team in research and development we are continuously working on our solutions to fit the changing needs in our international markets. With focus on our ventilators, WEINMANN Emergency has a range of solutions for emergency, transport and disaster scenarios. Digital solutions as further products – like suction units or oxygen equipment – are part of our innovative systems approach..
