2019 USAF Rescue Squadron of the Year announced
The US Air Force (USAF) 58th Rescue Squadron (RCS), Nellis Air Force Base, has been named the 2019 USAF Rescue Squadron of the Year by That Others May Live Foundation (TOMLF)
The award, which is to be presented on 5 October during the Air Rescue Ball in Tucson, Arizona, is annually given to one Air Force rescue unit that rises above the others, using a variety of criteria to determine outstanding overall squadron accomplishments. As a non-profit organisation that provides critical support, scholarships and tragedy assistance to families of the USAF, TOMLF has sponsored the annual award since 2012.
"Our evaluation team was extremely impressed with how much the Total Rescue Force has accomplished in the past year. It is always amazing to read of all the great accomplishments of our USAF Rescue Warriors," said TOMLF Chairman Todd Bolger. "The 58th RQS stood out this year, however, for their outstanding mission efforts, balanced with their exceptional efforts supporting base and community relations. We congratulate 58th Commander Lt Col Williams and the entire team for a great job!"
