Air Evac Lifeteam opens new Illinois base
The base is Air Evac’s 13th base in Illinois, and will improve access to emergency transport in the US state’s heartlands
Air Evac Lifeteam – a subsidiary of Global Medical Response (GMR) – has announced the establishment of a new emergency air medical base in the city of Decatur, Illinois.
The base will be home to a Bell 206, and will serve the population of Macon County, in the center of the US state. It will be Air Evac’s 13th base in Illinois, and will offer around-the-clock service.
“The Macon County air medical base will position us alongside our ground ambulance partners at Abbott EMS,” said Megan Kelly, Program Director for the Decatur base.
“This is a regional asset that gives us another safe option and increased capabilities to serve residents and visitors of central Illinois,” she added.
Air Evac Lifeteam opened another new base, in Laurel County, Kentucky, in June of this year.
