Air Methods announces changes to Florida operations
AirLife 7 will relocate to a new base at Lake City Gateway Airport, making room at their old base for Suwannee Air Rescue
Air Methods has announced changes to its operations in Florida, with the aim of expanding access to air medical care.
This includes relocating the company’s AirLife 7 base 20 miles east, to Lake City Gateway Airport, with the aim of improving response times and enhance coverage.
Additionally, the current AirLife 7 base in Live Oak will be taken over by the Suwannee Air Rescue, a new joint venture between Air Methods and Suwannee County Fire Rescue that aims to offer emergency response to the surrounding area.
Both bases will continue to be home to a Bell 407 helicopter equipped for medical operations.
“These moves will allow us to expand our service area while continuing to provide the industry-leading care that our partners and their patients have come to expect,” said Zach Nicholson, Regional Sales Director at Air Methods.
Dan Miller, Fire Chief of Suwannee County Fire Rescue added: “Our partnership with Air Methods helps ensure our residents have access to the highest level of emergency care. By combining our local knowledge with their advanced capabilities, we’re creating a flying ICU that brings lifesaving care directly to our community.”
TriState CareFlight, a subsidiary of Air Methods, recently announced the arrival of a new H125 B3E helicopter for its base in Taos, in the US state of New Mexico.
