Air Methods expands coverage to six additional US states

Despite recent closures of some its bases, Air Methods has now announced a strategic partnership with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield that will see Air Methods expanding its in-network partnerships, as well as providing life-saving care to six additional states across the US.

The new agreement gives Anthem-affiliated health plan members in California, Georgia, Nevada. Colorado, Virginia and New York Air Methods’ critical care in the air services at discounted in-network rates. This marks a significant step forward for the company, who are working to address the current balance billing concerns that have been highlighted by the industry.

Paul Marchetti, Senior Vice-President of Network and Care Delivery Transformation at Anthem, added that the agreement to add Air Methods to the network is another example of how Anthem is working to make healthcare simpler, while expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare. “At Anthem we’re working to help ensure consumers have access to vital healthcare services when they need them the most,” he said.
