Airbus H175 approved for operations in Canada
The helicopter type is designed to carry up to 18 passengers, and is capable of flying range of special mission operations
Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) has awarded type certification to the Airbus H175, opening the door for the aircraft type’s entry into the Canadian market.
The Airbus H175 is a multi-role aircraft designed to carry up to 18 passengers in standard configuration. It is capable of supporting a range of operation types, including search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS), public services, defense, and energy.
“This is a pivotal moment for the Canadian helicopter industry. We are delighted to receive Transport Canada certification for the H175, a testament to the dedication of our teams and the capabilities of this exceptional aircraft,” said Bart Reijnen, Head of the North America region at Airbus Helicopters.
“This certification … opens the door for new opportunities for operators seeking a highly capable, versatile, and dependable helicopter for their critical missions across Canada’s vast and challenging environment,” he added.
Offshore Helicopter Services UK (OHSUK) recently acquired a new Airbus H175 of its own.
