AirData launches Public Safety Program for drone operations
Public safety agencies can now streamline drone operations with faster onboarding, compliance tools, and real-time mission visibility
AirData has launched a new Public Safety Program aimed at supporting drone operations for law enforcement, fire, and emergency response agencies worldwide.
The company said the initiative expands its global public safety presence across 60 regions and provides agencies with access to tools, resources, and community support already used by established drone programs.
AirData’s platform is used by more than 444,000 pilots in 232 countries, with over 60 million flights uploaded to the system. The company said adoption of drones among public safety agencies continued to grow, with programs supporting patrol, search and rescue (SAR), tactical response, fire assessment, and transparency initiatives.
Several organizations already use the platform, including the Chula Vista Police Department, Sacramento Police Department, Huntsville Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
“Implementing AirData’s Public Portal into our unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) program has revolutionized the way we share our drone operations with the community,” said Program Manager Steven Oscar of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. “It’s transparent, user-friendly, and bridges the gap between technology and public trust.”
The company said agencies could set up accounts in minutes through a guided onboarding process and either launch an enterprise account or begin a free trial.
AirData automatically records flight paths, timestamps, pilot data, and mission details, while also supporting compliance reporting, live streaming, and public-facing flight record portals for community transparency.
Terry Miyauchi, Public Safety Segment Manager at Bell, spoke to AirMed&Rescue about defining missions when there is no ‘standard’ configuration for police, fire, medical or SAR helicopters.
