Airlec Ambulance acquires new Learjet 45
The aircraft is configured to carry up to two patients at a time, and will be used to provide long-distance transfers across Europe and Africa
French medical transport provider Airlec Ambulance has announced its acquisition of a new Bombardier Learjet 45 fixed-wing aircraft.
The jet will join the company’s air ambulance fleet from 15 July, and will be stationed at its base in Bordeaux, southern France.
The aircraft features a two-stretcher interior configuration, and is expected to strengthen the company’s long-distance air medical capacity, especially across Europe and Africa during the peak season.
The aircraft will be supported by a dedicated crew to ensure 24/7 responsiveness.
The Learjet 45 will offer a range of up to 2,000NM (3,704km), and has a cruise speed of 852km/h.
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently placed an order for 10 Airbus H125s, to be used by its Air and Marine Operations (AMO) division.
