Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing supplies radios to CAL FIRE
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is currently evaluating the radio sets for use in its firefighting fleet
Canadian avionics firm Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing (AEM) has announced that it is supplying radios for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s (CAL FIRE’s) aerial firefighting fleet.
The company said that it was “proud to support CAL FIRE with its continued evaluation of the MTP136D P25 aerial firefighting radio”, and that the agency had already purchased over 60 units.
AEM added that it had also committed to providing CAL FIRE with a suite of training systems to ensure that the agency’s crews can maximize the potential of the radio sets.
“Since the radio received United States Forest Service (USFS) approval in February, we’ve seen a significant shift by US-based agencies to arm their aerial teams on the front lines battling wildfires with this easy-to-use and reliable piece of technology,” said Tony Weller, Sales and Marketing Director at AEM.
AEM received a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the MTP136D radio in August last year.
