ASU honors early adopters of E3 night vision goggles at Verticon

Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) used the VAI Verticon annual convention in Atlanta, Georgia, to recognize early adopters of its E3 night vision goggles (NVGs), highlighting operators that supported the platform during its initial rollout.

“We wanted to take time to recognize the companies that placed their faith and trust in us by adopting our new E3 NVGs early in the process,” said ASU Vice President of Sales and Marketing Dan Meyer. “With our new E3 platform, it was vital to have early adopters who use the products in the field that can give us crucial feedback… Their input and use of the E3 enable us to maintain the high level of excellence that our customers demand while implementing ideas for the future.”

ASU presented custom-made owl awards to operators including OSF Aviation, PHI Health, PJ Helicopters, Boston MedFlight, and the North Carolina State Patrol.

More than 1,100 E3 NVGs have now been sold globally, with early adoption spanning North America and Europe.

“Some of the most rugged regions in Europe for flight are located near the mountainous terrain of the Alps,” said ASU Chief Pilot and Director of International Sales Alex Emmel. “Having notable air rescue units and military organizations flying our E3 is an honor… We are thankful to see the E3 having a positive impact on their operations.”

The AirMed&Rescue team recently examined the value of NVGs for police, search and rescue, and helicopter emergency medical services, when flying in low light or complete darkness.
