Avincis acquires new H145 D3 for Italian rescue operations
The helicopter is the first of a fleet of three due to be delivered to Avincis in support of its recently renewed contract with HELI – South Tyrol Air Rescue ODV
Emergency air services operator Avincis has acquired a new Airbus H145 D3 helicopter, which will enter service with HELI – South Tyrol Air Rescue ODV.
The delivery follows the renewal of Avincis’ contract with the association, which operates air rescue services in South Tyrol, Italy, on behalf of the Provincial Government of Bolzano.
The aircraft is the first of three new aircraft Avincis will use to support operations in the mountainous region. With the addition of this latest rotorcraft, the operator now flies a total of 21 H145s in Italy alone.
The new H145 D3 is expected to offer faster response times, strengthen coverage, and help to ensure the safety of civilians throughout the region, year-round.
“We welcome the addition of this new aircraft to our fleet. It is modern, efficient and offers our customers exactly what they need to provide rescue services,” said Luigi Ambrosini, Managing Director Rotor Wing at Avincis Group. “We are delighted to continue our long-standing contract in South Tyrol with HELI – South Tyrol Air Rescue.”
Avincis also recently announced the renewal of its contract to provide air ambulance services across Spain’s Canary Islands.
