The new equipment is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in special missions aviation

Aviation equipment manufacturer Axnes has unveiled a new helmet and headset built around its wireless intercom technology.

The NVolo V2_SAR_HY helmet and ODM IR33 headset were developed to meet the needs of professionals working in search and rescue (SAR), helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS), public safety and law enforcement, firefighting, and general aviation/lifting.

The headset features:

  • Seamless integration with Axnes wireless handsets
  • Automatic impedance detection for compatibility across airframes
  • Market-leading high noise attenuation 29/33/41 dB SNR rating
  • Active noise reduction (ANR)
  • 360° ambient noise perception (hear-through)
  • Near-field magnetic induction (NFMI) double hearing protection
  • Industry-leading microphone technology for crystal-clear communication
  • IP68 waterproofing and robust construction for extreme conditions
  • Helmet-compatible design.

Axnes previously announced that its PNG Wireless Intercom System (WICS) had been installed on two AS332 L1 Super Pumas operated by Precision Helicopters.
