Belgium receives first Airbus H145M helicopter
The helicopter is the first of a fleet of 20 due for delivery, which will be used by the Belgian military and police
Belgium has received the delivery of its first H145M helicopter from manufacturer Airbus, under a contract signed in 2024.
The Belgian government has placed orders for 20 rotorcraft under that procurement contract, including an initial 17, plus a further three ordered more recently through an option.
Aircraft delivered under the contract will be delivered to both the Belgian Army and the Federal Police.
The H145M is equipped for a range of mission types, including search and rescue (SAR), surveillance, disaster response, and light attack roles.
The aircraft are powered by twin Safran Arriel 2E engines, with full authority digital engine control (FADEC). They also feature a high-performance four-axis autopilot and a Helionix digital avionics suite.
