Boston MedFlight acquires new night vision goggles from ASU
US non-profit air ambulance service Boston MedFlight has announced the purchase of new E3 night vision goggles (NVG) from Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU)
The NVG are expected to offer major safety enhancements to Boston MedFlight’s nighttime helicopter operations, allowing the pilot to see obstacles and assure ground clearance more easily.
Additionally, the new goggles are expected to reduce eye strain and fatigue for pilots, and minimize blooming and shadowing from ground lights.
The purchase is part of the operator’s ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its pilots and clinical team.

Boston MedFlight announced plans to buy and medically retrofit a Cessna Citation CJ4 jet and an Airbus H145 in January.
