BRINC forms strategic partnership with Echodyne
BRINC has announced that it will integrate Echodyne’s MESA ground-based radar system into its drone-as-first-responder (DFR) solution
The integration of the MESA system will allow BRINC’s drones to operate beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) without visual observers, with operators able to view radar data via BRINC’s LiveOps digital platform.
The radar systems will offer continuous monitoring and real-time data on drones’ surrounding environments, including the location of other aircraft, obstacles, and dynamic changes.
The strategic partnership is expected to lower the barrier of entry for public safety agencies looking to use BRINC’s drone solution to start or expand their DFR program in the long term.
BRINC said that Echodyne’s radar systems will allow their customers to “meet the stringent Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for BVLOS operations without a visual observer”.
BRINC launched its DFR solution in May – it comprises the company’s Responder drone, a charging station, and the LiveOps platform.
