Bristow awarded Equinor offshore SAR contract
Energy company Equinor has awarded Bristow Norway a contract for the provision of offshore search and rescue services on the southern Norwegian coast
The initial contract will run for four years starting from 1 September 2023 and can be extended up to three more years through three optional one-year extensions.
Under the contract, Bristow will provide a fleet of two S-92 helicopters in search and rescue configuration, to be stationed at the Johan Sverdrup and Statfjord B offshore platforms, alongside a third back-up helicopter, to be stationed onshore.
Bristow has been a long-standing aviation partner of Equinor for over 25 years in support of its Norwegian continental shelf operations, providing both search and rescue and crew transport services.
“Search and rescue is a strategically important service for Bristow, and we are all extremely proud to be chosen as the preferred operator for SAR services to Equinor's emergency preparedness with SAR helicopters located offshore at Statfjord B and Johan Sverdrup offshore installations and backup SAR,” said Heidi Wulff Heimark, Bristow’s Managing Director of Norway.
The Bristow Group also recently announced the completion of its takeover of British International Helicopter Services on 2 August.
