Bristow hires 2Excel for fixed-wing SAR in Ireland
Bristow Ireland has subcontracted 2Excel Aviation to provide fixed-wing search and rescue (SAR) support in Ireland
2Excel will fly two King Air planes based at Shannon Airport in support of Bristow’s 10-year contract to provide SAR and other aviation services to the Irish Coast Guard.
As part of the arrangement, 2Excel Aviation will form a new subdivision called 2Excel Ireland, and will use the two planes to support SAR and environmental monitoring taskings.
Rotary-wing operations using a fleet of six AW189s will be provided directly by Bristow Ireland.
Operations under Bristow’s aviation services contract with the Irish Coast Guard are due to begin later this year. The company will take over from previous operator CHC Ireland.
