Peter Broschofsky - new Chief Executive Officer of CareFlight

Broschofsky has taken over the role of CEO of Australia’s CareFlight from Mick Frewen, who held the position for eight years

Brad Hazzard, Chairperson of CareFlight, has formally announced the appointment of Peter Broschofsky to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the organization following his predecessor, Mick Frewen, who held the position for eight years.

Broschofsky stated that “taking on the role is both an honor and a great responsibility”.

Having served as Chief Operating Officer for the past three and a half years, Broschofsky has worked alongside the CareFlight frontline teams during a period of unprecedented demand for lifesaving services.

Before joining CareFlight, his career spanned many years in the commercial aviation, building products, and industrial sectors, encompassing various senior leadership roles.

Speaking about Broschofsky’s appointment, Hazzard said: “The board is very pleased that Peter has accepted the role as CEO. He has a wealth of experience in the aviation industry and has substantial knowledge of CareFlight’s aeromedical services through his role as Chief Operating Officer.”

Broschofsky said: “It is my time at CareFlight that has been the most rewarding of my career. For more than three years, I have been immersed in the operational heartbeat of this organization – helping ensure our helicopters and aircraft are ready to fly, our engineering teams have the resources they need, our communications centers remain operational around the clock, and our doctors, nurses, and paramedics can reach patients whenever and wherever they are needed. CareFlight’s work depends on countless dedicated people, systems, and moving parts working together seamlessly every day of the year. It has been both a challenge and a privilege to help lead those efforts.

“I am grateful that the board of CareFlight has entrusted me with the responsibility to lead this remarkable organization into its next chapter. More importantly, I am excited to continue working alongside our people, partners, and supporters to ensure we remain there for communities across Australia when they need us most. Most of all, I want to express my sincere thanks. Every mission we undertake, every patient we assist, and every life we have the opportunity to save is made possible through the collective commitment of people who believe in our mission.”

In Europe, Esther Zermatten was appointed as the new CEO of Air-Glaciers.
