CareFlight launches Mayday fundraising event
Australian aeromedical charity CareFlight has launched its Mayday event to promote its services and raise funds
During the Covid-19 pandemic, CareFlight invited Australians to stay home and participate in the online social event Mayday. Throughout May, people can have a ‘Cuppa for CareFlight’, make a donation online and take a selfie with their favorite mug.
Trent Osborn, CareFlight General Manager, said: “During the current Covid-19 crisis, CareFlight has had to adapt the way we raise funds as many fundraising activities, events and community engagements have been cancelled resulting in a funding shortfall of up to AU$2 million for the next financial year.
“While many Australians are going through unprecedented hardship, we are still encouraging the community to take a selfie and join our online event to raise awareness and support for CareFlight. No matter the size of your donation, you can be saving lives and improving health outcomes in your local community.”
Even though Australia is on lockdown, CareFlight’s service continues throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
