The new partnership will equip Florida’s Broward County Sheriff’s Office with advanced public safety helicopters

Yesterday, aviation technology and wireless communications company CNC Technologies announced a collaboration with Airbus Helicopters and Metro Aviation to provide the Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) with three fully missionized aircraft for fire rescue and public safety operations.

The BSO Department of Fire Rescue has purchased two Airbus H145s for air medical, SAR, and law enforcement missions. In addition, the Sheriff’s Office has purchased one Airbus H125 helicopter to integrate into the fleet of two H125s currently performing law enforcement missions for the agency.

The fleet of three Airbus H125s will transmit imagery and data through the CNC Live access portal for all agency commanders to view in real time. CNC Live provides agencies with real-time access to view their video assets, improving their ability to coordinate joint responses during major incidents.

BSO has also expanded its high-resolution video and data transmission network in a bid to maximize aircraft efficiencies. Once deployed, all BSO aircraft will be managed under CNC’s Service, Support and Training program with round-the-clock coverage.

Ed Van Winkle, Vice President of Law Enforcement Sales and OEM Projects at CNC Technologies, said: “We work with many Florida law enforcement agencies, and we are honored to again be chosen by BSO to support their wide variety of public safety missions.”

With active projects spanning nine state and county agencies across the state of Florida, CNC Technologies said that the new BSO aircraft and infrastructure projects will improve communication, data sharing between state agencies, and response to significant incidents.

Last July, CNC Technologies announced contract awards for three Bell 505 helicopter integration projects for the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office in the US state of New Mexico, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
