COMAC secures order for up to six firefighting C909s
The order was placed by Shanxi Victory General Aviation at this year’s Singapore Airshow
Shanxi Victory General Aviation has signed a contract for up to six C909 firefighting aircraft from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).
The contract, signed on 3 February at this year’s Singapore Airshow, includes three firm orders, and options for three more.
The regional jet airliner is capable of seating between 78 and 97 passengers in standard configuration, and is designed for operations at airports with short and narrow runways and operations in high-temperature, high-altitude, and crosswind conditions.
COMAC also showcased a C909 plane in medical configuration at the airshow, capable of providing emergency medical assistance, medical transfers, and other air medical operations. The aircraft is equipped with a range of ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical facilities.
COMAC delivered its first medical rescue-configured C909 to China Flying Dragon General Aviation in September last year.
