DART Aerospace acquires Paravion Technology and Century Helicopters
DART says the acquisition of the two Colorado-based sister firms will enable it to expand its product range and expand its operations in the MRO sector
Canada’s DART Aerospace has announced that it has acquired US-based aircraft equipment manufacturer Paravion Technology and its sister company, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider Century Helicopters.
DART says the businesses, based in Fort Collins, Colorado, will enable it to broaden and diversify its product portfolio, and enable it to offer several new product categories, such as heating and air conditioning systems and Paravion’s Heliporter ground handling unit for helicopters.
Paravion holds close to 70 Federal Aviation Administration certificates and over 200 non-US validations from entities such as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and Transport Canada Civil Aviation, including environmental control systems certified under original equipment manufacturer certificate types.
In addition, Century Helicopters has a strong reputation of completion expertise in the field of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. DART says the acquisition of Century will enable it to expand its operations in this business segment.
“This is an exciting time for Paravion and our customers,” says Larry Hansen, President and CEO of Paravion/Century. “This blending of capabilities and products will provide increased support and opportunity to our current customers and, through DART’s extensive network, bring quality Paravion products to a larger share of the market.”
DART Aerospace also partnered with United Rotorcraft in October 2021, to develop and certify lightweight Fire Attack Systems for the Firehawk firefighting helicopter.
