Diamond Aircraft delivers advanced surveillance aircraft to QinetiQ

Diamond Aircraft has delivered a highly customized surveillance aircraft to QinetiQ, with the Dutch Military Police as the end user, marking a significant milestone in advanced airborne mission capability.

The project reflects close collaboration between Diamond Aircraft and QinetiQ and highlights the company’s focus on delivering mission-ready platforms for demanding operational environments worldwide.

As part of the program, Diamond completed a comprehensive retrofit of one of QinetiQ’s existing DA62 MPP aircraft already in service. The upgrade extends the aircraft’s operational life while adapting it to evolving mission requirements. The solution was delivered as a fully certified, turnkey package in compliance with all relevant aviation and operational standards, with retrofit and integration work carried out under European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 145 maintenance approval.

Using its in-house engineering and certification expertise, Diamond provided a seamless upgrade path for the DA62 MPP platform. The aircraft now features a suite of advanced mission systems, including a Shotover M2 camera, Shotover ARS augmented reality mapping system, Rohde & Schwarz multiband radio, TETRA radios, an Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing (AEM) advanced audio router, and a line-of-sight downlink for real-time data transmission.

This configuration enables the performance of complex surveillance and reconnaissance missions with enhanced efficiency, reliability, and interoperability across agencies.
